It’s Spring time baby! Birds chirping, baseball season and……snow! Yes today March 23, the 4th day of Spring, Chicago was hit with up to 6 inches of snow in some areas. I know what all you out of towners are saying, why don’t we get snow until April Chicago is so lucky…..said no one ever!

You know the funniest shit I saw today? People were actually putting their lawn chairs and house furniture back out in the street holding parking spaces. If you’ve never rode through a Chicago neighborhood after a fresh snow you have missed the pleasure of seeing 1981 kitchen chair sets and old baby strollers hold parking spaces after a hard day of shoveling. It gets so real in Chicago that someone cut a woman’s brake lines on her car after they had returned home and found she’d move their lawn chair and parked her car in their space in the Ukranian Village neighborhood.

But if Jesus is busy ya know being Jesus grab that old t.v. off of the back porch and stake your claim! Photo courtesy of chicagodibs.tumblr.com

It’s not all bad though Chicago! When the tides do change and the temp hits 70 we have to enjoy one of the most beautiful and exciting cities in the world.

I took this photo standing on top of the Halsted street bridge looking into downtown.

Navy Pier. Shopping that will tire out the flyest of Housewives. Home of America’s 1st Black President. We have an amazing city and sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. Throw on that winter coat for a few more days Chi city and get ready for some beauty. It’s almost April, it can’t snow forever! Until next time.-RD

And always remember when coming to the Chi…..rather summer or winter, spring or fall bring your coat, sun screen, shorts, hats, gloves and all! 🙂 -Royal Diva
