di-va: (n) a distinguished woman; goddess, fine lady
Royal Diva was born and raised on the West Side of Chicago. There was no shortage of sass in her as a child and she quickly fell in love with all things journalism and entertainment. Beginning her career at 9 years old at the Chicago Broadcast Museum Royal Diva would record mock television news broadcasts like her favorite Black journalists Allyson Payne and Robert Jordan.
Graduating high school with only a 2.0 G.P.A Royal Diva found school to be very boring and easy. She was more interested in the psychology of the people around her so with her diploma at 17 she packed up ad moved to Atlanta, GA where she spent the next 3 years at Clark-Atlanta University. Finishing her Bachelor’s Degree at Chicago State University, Royal Diva began her career in radio. Creating and Producing her own show Royal Diva has been apart of the iHeart Radio family for several years now.
This Radio life took a back seat for a moment while Royal Diva traveled the country hosting the Lex Recs Party In Peace Tour. Gracing stages in Atlanta, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Alabama and New Orleans. Host of the 2014 Midwest Urban Music Awards and Writer/Editor for Chi By Design Royal Diva has been putting in work.
