Heey Chi Town! Your Royal Diva is back today with a post that I could not wait to write. I’m so excited about the upcoming months because summer in Chicago is synonymous with great music, and you know I love music! Hey you can’t be a radio D.J. and not love music. Whether your pleasure is Heavy Metal, Punk Rock or the smooth sounds of R & B the Chicago Summer Music Festival line up has something for you!

Electronic Daisy Carnival- May 24-26

Chicagoland Speedway

This is the first year that Chicago is playing host to the EDC, a totally awesome experience for electronic dance lovers! Regular 3-Day passes $175-230. Click here for more info. Some of this years musical highlights include Sebastian Ingrosso, Bad Boy Bill and Tale of Us.

Ravinia Festival June 6- September 15

The Ravinia Fests are a Chicago Staple. Thousands of people from miles away journey to Chicago each summer to hear the smooth sounds of Jazz and Blues emanating across the green. Patrons can bring lawn chairs and coolers full of their goodies to stretch out with the family and enjoy some really good music. Grant Park Music Festival June 12-August 17

Another staple in Chicago for its classical concert series, the GPMF offers the convenience and beauty of down town Chicago as its backdrop. Unlike most festivals where a tent is your only sleep over option, GPMF has numerous hotels that line Michigan Ave for your sleeping comforts. Some of this years musical highlights include A Roger and Hammerstein Celebration, Concerto for Saxophones and many more! For more info click here.

Spring Awakening June 14-16

This Electronic Dance Music concert is the 2nd annual of the series being held at the world famous Soldier Field (Bear Down!). Tickets range between $170-300 for general admission and V.I.P passes. If you are an up and coming D.J or Designer don’t forget to check out their contests! This years musical highlights include Bass Nectar, Calvin Harris and Chicago’s own Kruwella! Wavefront Music Festival July 5-7

Another EDM hits Chicago with a vengeance. This time we can all take our talents to South Beach, okay okay Lebron, we’re taking them over to Montrose Beach but I’m sure it’ll be just as awesome. If you have never experienced the beauty that is Lake Michigan please head over to this fest with your beach towel and get ready to party. some of this years musical headliners include Justice and Diplo. Pitchfork July 19-21

This year’s Pitchfork fest is going to be banana’s and Royal Diva will be there live to bring you all the scoop! The line up is so diverse and crazy that I am getting chills just writing about it. This years musical highlights include R. Kelly, Bjork, Solange, Killer Mike, Yo La Tengo, M.I.A and many many more. It all goes down in Union Park and 3-Day passes are $120. Lollapalooza August 2-4

This is thee BIGGEST Music Festival to hit this side of the Great Lakes. Lollapalooza is the Midwest’s answer to Coachella, SXSW and all the other great summer concert series. In the words of little funny man Kevin Hart. Its.About.To.Go.Down. Lollapalooza is back again to put Chicago on the map with headliners like Mumford & Sons, the Killers, Nine Inch Nails and many many more! A 3-Day pass for this Grant Park Festival will run you about $235. For more info click here.
